Hospital Volunteer Opportunities:
Gift Shop Attendant: Our Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. We host a variety of reasonably priced gifts for all ages. We feature a couple of local artisans each quarter in the gift shop.
Replenishing Water: A volunteer replenishes the water mugs for the residents in the morning and also in the afternoon, every day of the week. This is a flexible opportunity that benefits our residents and also allows a wonderful opportunity to visit with the residents on an individual basis.
Meals on Wheels: Community members who have requested meals delivered to their homes are served by volunteers. The meals are prepared by the dietary staff at Pioneer Memorial and are delivered into the community on Monday through Friday.
Activity Events Volunteer: Our Activity Department hosts a variety of facility events and fund raisers throughout the year. This position offers the opportunity to work in many different capacities. You might be asked to carry trays for residents, serve food in a buffet line, cut dessert, assisting residents to their table, assisting with crafts, musical entertainment or providing baked goods. You might be asked to serve as a hostess at the reception table or provide directions to community members coming into the facility.
Resident Services Volunteer: The Activity Department also seeks volunteers to help with various individualized and group activities for residents. Such activities might include assisting with afternoon lunch, chaperoning a facility outing, reading mail to a resident, sharing devotions, sitting with residents outdoors, providing nail care, assisting with lotion therapy, pet therapy, music therapy or work therapy.
Musical Entertainment: Many of our volunteers offer their musical talents on a regularly scheduled basis and provide a wide variety of musical entertainment for the residents. Music is one of the most loved activities that all residents can enjoy.
